AWCC has 8 years of short but sweet proud history. The club has built strong family and social traditions in the Adelaide Community. The atmosphere at AWCC has always been one of a friendly and welcoming nature, and it is this culture that has made the club so attractive to play for. We have around 100 playing members and 50 community memberships. We are planning to launch Juniors grade from next season.

Adelaide Warrior Cricket Club, Inc will provide cricketers of all backgrounds and abilities with an enjoyable and competitive cricketing experience, providing opportunities for continual improvement of both individuals and team playing standards. The club will also provide members with enjoyable and regular off-field activities and events

AWCC will become the club of choice for cricketers in the Adelaide, by seeking a high standard of organized and enjoyable on and off-field experiences.

The values that you as a player bring to your team, overall club, and the game itself are extremely important to the ongoing success of AWCC. Every player is expected to make an important contribution to play the game in good spirit and fairness. The following details the AWCC players Charter, outlining how all players are expected to train play the game and socialize.

  • All players will adhere to the rules and regulations outlined for all training sessions.
  • All players will fully commit their best effort to training.
  • All players will respect and encourage all other players.
  • All players will follow the instructions provided by coaching personnel.

Updated information will be provided when necessary and changes and adjustments about practice sessions will be relayed to all players via email and/or Whatsapp instant group message.

Players are encouraged to arrive at training by the time specified on the Training Calendar. Training will officially commence at the time indicated and those arriving after this time may miss important improvement activities. If possible, players are also encouraged to arrive prior to the designated time in order to attend to specific batting, bowling and fielding goals with a partner.

Training is considered a vital component of short and long-term player development, with the coaching staff investing a considerable amount of time planning and implementing sessions. Strong training numbers and strong training effort will lead to a strong overall club.

It is compulsory for all players to be attired in official AWCC training attire for all sessions. All players are reminded to bring training gear suitable for the location indicated on the training calendar.

Training sessions will never be cancelled for members of the Senior and Development Squads. All other club members are also welcome to attend on occasions when inclement weather will lead to a change in training activities. Alternative training activities will be arranged regardless of the weather conditions. If desired, attend training in appropriate wet-weather attire.

  • All players will provide assistance to the club if requested or whenever possible.
  • All players support off-field club activities whenever possible.
  • All players will respect all off-field club personnel and decisions.
  • All players will respect and accept all selection decisions.

Where a member of AWCC fails to comply with the Players Charter they will be required to fully explain to the clubs Warrior Disciplinary Committee. The Warrior Disciplinary Committee reserves the right to impose an appropriate sanction on the associated player.

Team selection will be conducted following Saturday afternoon training sessions at home ground. Whilst it is impossible to list all factors, team selection will be influenced by the following factors (in no particular order):

Team goals
• Team balance
• Players past performance
• Players training performance
• Players training attendance
• Players game-day effort and attitude
• Players training effort and attitude
• Players overall season availability
• Players future potential
• The opposition
• The conditions

Whilst the captain of each specific team will outline specific match-day regulations for his players, the following regulations apply to all members of AWCC, regardless of the team in which they are selected.
• Arrive at the venue on time
• Assist with equipment set-up
• Wear appropriate AWCC attire before the game
• Follow the instructions of your captain at all times
• Support and encourage team-mates at all times
• Give 100% effort for your team and club at all times
• Assist with equipment pack-up
